I would really love to be able to walk from my building and get a great latte in the morning or an iced latte or frappuccino in the afternoon.  I think we need an upscale coffee house downtown.  I'm not picky, I was just want one with lots of options (because everyone orders something different, its our own unique signature these days), and knows how to make really good coffee.

I used to think Starbuck's would be perfect downtown, as long as it had a drive-through for the early morning people who need a pick-me-up but are always late for work. But, it looks like that may not happen for a while since they seem to be at a freeze on opening new stores.  So, we must look at other alternatives.  This weekend I was in San Angelo and went to both Texas Coffee Co. and Baker Street Coffee House. Both had great service, great food and beverage selections, and most importantly… great coffee. 

Anyone that would put in a coffee house downtown would definitely have me as a customer!

there used to be a coffee house downtown. In the building right next door to Teh Hilton. It was called The Ground Floor. Thay had art and live music on weekends. It was really a very cool place. I was dissapointed when it closed.

BRING IT BACK!

If you look across wall st from the couthouse you can see the new location of the “old ground floor”.  It's right next to cristiani's jewelry.  Some bought all the old equipment from the ground floor coffee shop and moved it down the street to a new location. Renovations are complete and it should be open very soon. Hang in there.
