New Day!

October 28th, 2008 by author3 : Posted in Uncategorized

Thank you to all who came out over the weekend for the event. Also, the volume of calls recieved praising the event was very nice.

I was reminded this morning while riding to work on the importance of layering adequately. It was COLD! But that was my fault, my eleven year old told me it was cool and that I needed a warmer jacket… So for those of you coming out to do yoga at noon at Centennial Plaza this Thursday Oct. 30th  layer up. You always can strip layers away. I’ll have mats out there for anyone who comes out. It will be a low key, easy session. Very basic and relaxing yet invigorating and refreshing. All are welcome regardless of skill level or if its your first time. NO COST! I’ll be out there from 11:45 but will start about 12:10 to about 12:45.

Afterwards, there are I’ll be grabbing a bite nearby. I’ll tell you about that experience on Friday.

Hello from Baltimore!

Hi, I’m Ben Telesca, 37, and from Panama and I just moved to Midland a few months ago to take the Recreation Superintendent for the City of Midland. I wish I could be there tonight to kick off LIVE Midland, but I am in Baltimore, MD for work. But I am taking lots of photos to add to my site when I return.

Just a little bit about myself – I enjoy the outdoors, cycling, triathlons, rock climbing mountain biking, and lately motorcycling.  I find great satisfaction in physical activity, and introducing others to how it can improve their quality of life.  I would characterize myself as a purveyor of experiences and education for the improvement of your quality of life as well as that of our surroundings.

Since I’ve been here I have had the opportunity to enjoy a couple of eateries in the downtown area.  My work brings me downtown frequently. On each occasion, something new comes into focus.

For downtown, potential is relative to the principal needs of the downtown area. Beyond those, we find the peripheral attributes that color our daily existence. Art, shopping, entertainment, and the culture that identifies Midland as West Texas iconic fragment of this great state. The development of these elements, coupled with increased interaction/events in the area would assist in bringing more attention to the revitalization efforts as well as re-introduce the area to the natives who have not had reason nor opportunity to visit the downtown area.

Thanks, and I will be checking in soon,

Ben
