You know, this weekend some friends and I went to see the new Leonardo DiCaprio/Russell Crowe movie and it got me to thinking…(Some of you who know me just thought “Oh no…”) Wouldn’t it be nice to show movies in the park downtown? I have been to larger cities that project the movie on the side of a building and people can come and do a “movie picnic”. We definitely have enough buildings downtown so I don’t think that a “screen” would be a problem. What do you think?

Well, I got my first experience of a real corn field maze Friday. It was really cool. My friends, family and I thought we would start the evening off with dinner. Which, I must admit, was a good idea at the time but when you drink 3 glasses of water and go straight into a maze that only has bathrooms on the OUTSIDE of the maze, you might rethink that 3rd glass of water… At least it is a good incentive to hurry through the maze. HA HA
If you go to the Fiddlesticks Corn Maze, I recommend going in a group. You can have fun with a couple of friends or a whole herd. We had a blast trying to scare each other and wandering around in this field, in the dark with nothing to protect us but flashlights. We did see a deer (at least that is what they told me, I personally couldn’t see over the corn stalks).
I plan to go back with the nieces and nephew. I know they will have fun. There was a huge slide that some of us (uh hum) decided to slide down. There is also a corn cannon that you shoot corn at targets (or enemies…just kidding). Regardless of your age or the ages of your friends, this place was a blast.

Hey Guys!
My name is Shona. I am from the area but just made Midland my home. I am really excited to take you on my journey as I uncover everything that Midland has to offer. I work downtown and LOVE it! It has the big city feel without the big city congestion. There are tons of quaint restaurants and shops that I am looking forward to exploring and sharing the experiences with you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do and feel free to post questions, suggestions, or ideas for places to check out or that you would like to know more about and I will be more than happy to look into it.
