MDC Board of Director Spotlight
Robert Rendall, Jr. serves as the Secretary for the Midland Development Corporation. After being a resident of Midland for over 49 years, Robert holds the city close to his heart and feels strongly about seeing our community grow and prosper in the years to come.
Robert was born in Lake County, Illinois and after moving to Texas later graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BBA in 1975. He then continued his education at Texas Tech University School of Law gratuating with his Juris Doctorate in 1978. Robert was admitted to the Texas bar in 1978, the U.S. District Court, Western District of Texas in 1979, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit in 1980. He was named Midland County’s Outstanding Young Lawyer 1989 - 1990. Rendall served as the former Midland County Attorney and as a City of Midland Councilman. He is currently a shareholder of the law firm Stubbeman, McCrea, Sealy, Laughlin & Browder Corporate and Commercial Real Estate in Midland.
When asked what first attracted Robert to serve on the MDC board, this is what he had to say, “Since moving to Midland I have been very involved in the County and City, once the MDC was created in 2002 I have followed their activities and projects and it looked like the perfect fit for me.”
As for what the future holds, Rendall referred to diversifying Midland’s economy. “I would like the MDC to lead our community in assisting Midland residents in securing employment opportunities in a variety of fields. I also believe that we need to market Midland to young professionals all over the U.S. who can establish themselves in Midland both professionally and personally to better our community for the future.”
